Rattlers upset Brock
The Tolar Rattlers upset Brock 7-2 at home Tuesday.
Brock entered the game tied with Breckenridge at the top of District 7-3A. But after a scoreless first four innings, Tolar put up seven runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Sam Stokes got the inning started with a walk. After a fielder’s choice, Wesley Miller and Derian Morphew drew back-to-back walks to load the bases.
Matt Moody was hit by a pitch to score a run. Then Mason Behrens singled to clear the bases and give Tolar a 4-0 lead. A triple from Joseph Arce gave the Rattlers two more runs, and Alex Acre singled in Joseph for Tolar’s final run of the game.
Morphew threw 5.1 innings for the Rattlers, striking out three and walking six. He gave up one run and one hit.
Wesley Miller finished out the game, allowing a run and three hits while striking out two over 1.2 innings.
Tolar was 4-5 after the win. The Rattlers played Breckenridge on the road Friday, and will return home to host Jacksboro at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
